Bart Trotter’s Music History
Bart was born in 1964 in Norman, Oklahoma – Moved to Odessa, Texas in 1970 – Started “fiddling around” in 1975 – Traveled all over the U.S. competing in fiddle contests and performing with bands – performed at the Flying J Ranch Chuckwagon Suppers and Western Show in Ruidoso, New Mexico for 13 years – Performed in Las Vegas, Nevada at the National Finals Rodeo with Eddy Akridge and the Gold Buckle Band for 8 years.
Around 1998 Bart called Fredericksburg and the Texas Hill Country home for over 10 years, playing all over the Hill Country and the Austin, Texas area. In 2008 Bart moved back to Ruidoso, New Mexico to play at Mountain Annie’s Dinner Theater for 2 years. On December 12, 2012 Bart married his life-long sweetheart Denise Boen Trotter, and in March of 2014 they moved to Branson, Missouri. In September of 2017 they moved back to Texas. They now call Temple, TX home!

Bart Trotter – 6-time National Champion & 1986 World Champion Fiddler – on fiddle and vocals,
Cindy Cashdollar – 5-time Grammy award winner – from “Asleep at the Wheel, Bob Dylan” – on steel guitar and dobro,
Rick McRae – from the “Ace in the Hole Band” – on lead and rhythm guitar,
Danny Levin – from “Asleep at the Wheel” on piano,
Terry Hale – from the “Ace in the Hole Band” – on bass, and
Wes Star – from “Omar and the Howlers, Jimmy Vaughn” – on drums.

Bart has played, performed and or recorded with: The Sons of the Pioneers, The Texas Playboys, Almost Patsy Cline, Gary P. Nunn, The Asylum Street Spankers, Don McCallister Jr., The Lonesome Riders, Merle Haggard, Johnny Gimble, The Flying J Wranglers, Eddy Akridge, Tish Hinajosa, Gary Cook, Roger Moon, Joel Melton, Rick McRae, Terry Hale, Cindy Cashdollar, Redd Volkaert, Floyd Domino, Billy Dee, Thomas Michael Riley, Mickey Cochran, The Hillbilly Potentates, Doug Davis and The Note Ropers, Tim McCasland and countless others.
In July of 2015 Bart was diagnosed with A.L.S. or Lou Gerhig’s Disease. Bart no longer plays the fiddle, but enjoys listening to live music!
